Genesis Part 1 is the fourth paid DLC expansion for Ark: Survival Evolved, published by Snail Games USA on February 25, 2020. It takes place in a simulation in which the player travels between five mini-maps, each a different biome: an alien bog, a frigid arctic landscape, a very large ocean, a volcanic hellscape with an active volcano, and the low-gravity high orbit of outer space.

Story and content
In Genesis Part 1 players uncover the story with a new AI-like companion, HLN-A (Helena). The expansion adds missions across the simulations that grant graded loot, new resources and items, and five new tameable creatures, including the Magmasaur, a bearded dragon fused with magma that uses fire-based attacks, and the Ferox, a four-armed, lemur-like creature that transforms into a larger, more aggressive form.
