Enrique César González Lugo (born July 14, 1982) is a Venezuelan former professional baseball pitcher. He made his MLB debut with the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2006.

Playing career

Enrique González debuted in the majors on May 28, 2006, starting for the Arizona Diamondbacks against the Cincinnati Reds. He threw six innings and allowed just one run. For most of that season, he held a spot in the rotation, though his performance was uneven, and he finished the year working out of the bullpen. The Washington Nationals claimed him off waivers on September 17, 2007.

A few months later, on February 5, 2008, the San Diego Padres picked him up the same way. After four appearances for San Diego, he was sent outright to the minors on April 15. He became a free agent at season’s end. In December 2008, he signed a minor league deal with the Boston Red Sox and got an invitation to spring training.

He spent nearly all of 2009 at Triple-A, then was called up on August 8, only to be designated for assignment the next day. On January 11, 2010, he inked another minor league contract, this time with the Detroit Tigers, along with a spring training invite. He was promoted on June 10 to replace the injured Ryan Perry. The Tigers bought his contract on May 22, 2011, but sent him outright to Triple-A on June 13.

In the summer of 2014, he played in Italy for Rimini Baseball. During the offseason, he regularly returns to Venezuela to suit up for Tiburones de La Guaira. As of 2025, he serves as a pitching coach for the DSL Angels, the Dominican Summer League affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels.
