La Corda d'Oro is a Japanese role-playing game series from Koei, targeted at a female demographic. It was adapted into an anime television series titled La Corda d'Oro: Primo Passo, which premiered on TV Tokyo from October 2006 to March 2007. The series also aired on Animax and was licensed in North America by Sentai Filmworks.

Plot
Kahoko Hino, a student in the General Education section of Seiso Academy, encounters a musical fairy named Lili. Lili gives her a magical violin and a place in the school's annual musical competition. Initially refusing, Kahoko eventually accepts and discovers she can play any piece as long as she knows the tune and plays with her heart. As the competition progresses, she grows attached to her fellow competitors.
Characters
Kahoko Hino is a second-year student in the General Education department at Seiso Academy. She has a warm, friendly, and straightforward personality, expressing herself through her violin. She remains unaware of the attention from the males around her and lives with her mother, older sister, and older brother, with no evidence of her father. Len Tsukimori, also a second-year student in the Music department, is a violin prodigy who initially appears cold and strict but warms up to Hino. Azuma Yunoki is a popular third-year Music student specializing in the flute; he is best friends with Kazuki Hihara and supports him. Keiichi Shimizu is a first-year cellist with angelic eyes who often sleeps; his schedule revolves around sleeping, waking, playing the cello, and sleeping again, and he also frequents the library and concerts. Kazuki Hihara is a carefree, energetic third-year trumpet player and Azuma's best friend. Ryotaro Tsuchiura, a General Education student, plays soccer and piano; he helps Hino because she inspired him to resume playing piano, and he is straightforward and honest. Shoko Fuyuumi is a timid first-year Music student specializing in the clarinet and piano; she admires Hino and becomes frightened by loud voices, and her wealthy parents often send her to pensions for training. Nao Kobayashi and Mio Takato are Hino's best friends who assist her in trouble. Lili is a mischievous fairy who gave Hino the magical violin and is nearly invisible to people.
