Lore & Background
The season follows the dwindling descendants of the witches who survived the Salem witch trials, who are often attacked by outside forces. Fiona's search for immortality renews the rivalry between the Salem witches and Marie Laveau's voodoo practitioners, and the coven is also hunted by the witch hunters of the Delphi Trust. A Council of Witchcraft headed by Myrtle Snow oversees it. The next Supreme is found through the test of the Seven Wonders, which Cordelia completes; as Supreme she goes public with the coven's existence and appoints Zoe and Queenie to the Council.
Reader's Guide
The coven returns in Apocalypse, the eighth season, in which its witches battle the Antichrist Michael Langdon and try to prevent the end of the world.
