Bloodsoaked was started by Peter Hasselbrack, who also created and ran the underground death metal web site Bloodsoaked Promotions (1996–2004) and Bloodsoaked Records. The band name derived from these entities. In February 2007, Bloodsoaked signed to Comatose Music and released their debut album Brutally Butchered in April 2007. Their second album Sadistic Deeds... Grotesque Memories followed in April 2009, and their third album The Death of Hope was released in August 2011, featuring guest guitar solos by James Murphy. Both the second and third albums were mixed and mastered by Shane McFee, who also programmed drums for them. The Death of Hope was recorded at The Basement Studio with Jamie King.
