Premise

The series follows the mythical sword-and-planet adventures of three companions: Galtar, Princess Goleeta, and her younger mind-controlling brother Zorn. Galtar wields the Golden Lance against Tormack, the tyrannical usurper of the kingdom of Bandisar who killed Galtar's parents and assassinated the rest of Goleeta and Zorn's family. Tormack seeks to combine the Golden Lance with the Sacred Shield, which belongs to Goleeta and Zorn, to become invincible. The Golden Lance normally appears as a short staff; when Galtar holds it overhead, two mystical blades extend from it, and it can divide into two swords. The lance's enchantment releases energy from its hilt, called the Fury of the Golden Lance, when an unworthy wielder holds it. The series was cancelled before revealing the final outcome of the conflict.

Characters

The Golden Lance belongs to Galtar, the series' hero. Princess Goleeta rules Bandisar, and her younger brother Zorn can control minds. Galtar rides a faithful horse named Thork. The main villain is Tormack, who has a wizardly assistant called Krimm. A father-and-son dwarf team, Rak and Tuk, work as clumsy mercenaries and often betray both sides, claiming it is the only job they know. The Lance's original keeper, Ither, eventually hides it in a cave where Galtar finds it. A feral child named Marin saves and becomes friends with Zorn. Pandat, prince of the Nerms, sometimes helps the heroes. Tormack's niece Rava joins Galtar and Goleeta, wearing a gauntlet with gems that control fire and ice; a black gem summons the red dragon Raven's Claw. Rava later gives this gauntlet to Goleeta. Raven's Claw first appears in the opening episode to aid the pair. Vikor leads a band of raiders who also hunt for the Golden Lance.
