Cashmere Mafia
Four business-school friends navigate careers and personal lives in New York.
Kevin Wade created the comedy-drama Cashmere Mafia, which aired on ABC for a short run from early January to late February 2008. Executive producers included Darren Star, Gail Katz, Jeff Rake, and Michael Pressman, with Susie Fitzgerald co-executive producing. Peyton Reed directed the pilot. The network chose not to order a second season. The series follows four ambitious women, longtime best friends since business school, as they balance glamorous careers and complex personal lives by forming their own "boys' club" called The Cashmere Mafia in New York City.

Production and airing
Produced by Sony Pictures Television, Darren Star Productions and Gail Katz Productions, the series received a thirteen-episode order on May 11, 2007. It was initially slated to debut on November 27, 2007, as a mid-season replacement for the Dancing with the Stars results show. The 2007–2008 Writers Guild of America strike caused only 7 of the 13 ordered episodes to be produced, and ABC delayed the premiere due to programming and promotional concerns.
Cashmere Mafia had a special preview on Sunday, January 6, 2008, then moved to its regular Wednesday 10:00PM Eastern/9:00PM Central time slot on January 9, replacing Dirty Sexy Money and following Supernanny. It competed indirectly with NBC's Lipstick Jungle, created by Candace Bushnell. The series was purchased by broadcasters in Poland, Malaysia, Singapore, Ireland, the Netherlands, Belgium, Croatia, Portugal, New Zealand, Australia, Canada, Finland, India, Serbia, Denmark, Cuba, France, Russia, and Italy.
