FTR

Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler: the old-school tag team with gold in five promotions.

via Wikipedia: FTR (professional wrestling) · see source

FTR is an American tag team made up of Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler, managed by Stokely. Signed to All Elite Wrestling, they have held the AEW World Tag Team Championship three times, tying the record, and they also compete for partner promotion Revolution Pro Wrestling. Their approach is a throwback to mat-based tag wrestling, summed up by their slogan "No flips, just fists." Counting WWE, AEW, ROH, AAA and NJPW, they are nine-time world tag team champions and the only team to have won titles in all five companies.

Background

Harwood and Wheeler were friends from North Carolina who had teamed on the independent circuit. WWE hired Harwood in 2012 as Scott Dawson, and when Wheeler arrived at the Performance Center in 2014, producer Dusty Rhodes pushed for them to be paired. First billed as The Mechanics, then Dash and Dawson on NXT, they became The Revival in 2016, a name that nodded to 1980s teams such as the Brain Busters and The Midnight Express. In WWE they won the NXT, Raw and SmackDown tag titles and were recognised as the first WWE Tag Team Triple Crown winners. WWE released them in April 2020, and they debuted in AEW on the May 27, 2020 episode of Dynamite as FTR.
