The game's plot involves Gowron creating a holodeck 'immersion studies' program to dispel common misbeliefs about Klingons. The player assumes the role of Pok, a young Klingon about to undergo the Rite of Ascension. The celebration is interrupted when Pok's father is killed during an assassination attempt on Gowron's life, leading Gowron and Pok to swear a blood oath to find the killers.
