Founding of Milan Cricket and Football Club 1899
Milan began in 1899 as the Milan Foot-Ball and Cricket Club, founded by Herbert Kilpin.
AC Milan was founded in 1899 as the Milan Foot-Ball and Cricket Club by the English expatriate Herbert Kilpin. The club gives 16 December 1899 as its foundation date, although historical evidence suggests it was actually founded on 18 December.
Lore & Background
At first the club had a cricket section, run by Edward Berra, and a football section, run by Kilpin, and under Kilpin's guidance the team quickly gained prominence. The club's 120th anniversary was marked in the 2019-20 season.
