Sean Combs: The Reckoning

Sean Combs: The Reckoning is a Netflix documentary miniseries that examines the sexual misconduct allegations against rapper Sean "Diddy" Combs. Directed by Alexandria Stapleton and produced by Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson, it premiered on December 2, 2025. The series combines archival footage of Combs with interviews from a range of people, including Kalenna Harper, Aubrey O'Day, Erick Sermon, Al B. Sure!, Mark Curry, Lil' Cease, Greg Kading, Roger Bonds, Capricorn Clark, Kirk Burrowes, Tim "Dawg" Patterson, Joi Dickerson-Neal, Clayton Howard, Rodney "Lil Rod" Jones, William Lesane, Roxanne Johnson, and Brooklyn Babs.

Jackson first announced the project on December 7, 2023, stating that proceeds would go to victims of the allegations. He had spent five months prior seeking out people close to Combs willing to speak. Cassie Ventura, Combs's former partner, declined to participate, though Jackson said he spoke with her and her husband, Alex Fine, to understand the situation. Netflix confirmed production on September 25, 2024, a week after Combs was arrested on charges including racketeering, sex trafficking, and transportation for prostitution. Jackson and Stapleton described the story as having significant human impact, spanning decades, and stressed their commitment to giving a voice to the voiceless while noting that Combs's actions do not define hip-hop culture. The series includes clips of Combs from just before his 2024 arrest; Stapleton stated the footage was obtained legally and with proper rights.

The trailer dropped on December 1, 2025, and the series was released the next day. In its first six days, it was viewed 21.8 million times, making it Netflix's second-most-watched title for the week of December 1–8, 2025, behind Stranger Things season 5, volume 1. On Rotten Tomatoes, 90% of 10 critics gave positive reviews, with the consensus calling it "meticulous and sober" and "a smoothly made and exhaustive chronicle." Metacritic assigned a score of 67 out of 100, indicating generally favorable reviews. The Guardian's Stuart Heritage gave it four out of five stars, praising it for suggesting Combs may have been outmaneuvered, though noting that his "freak-off" parties and celebrity attendees were underplayed.

Before release, a Combs spokesperson called the series a "shameful hit piece" using stolen footage.
