Synopsis
Ranch hand Gus Broeberg (Frank Ferguson) and his niece Hildy (Pamela Beaird) appear regularly. Stories center on Ken and his horse Flicka, exploring ranch life and the lessons learned from mistakes. Rob often tells Ken, "You did what you thought was right son, and that's the important thing."
Production
Interior scenes were filmed at the old William Fox Motion Pictures Studio, while exteriors were shot at the 20th Century Fox Movie Ranch, now part of Malibu Creek State Park. The series had higher-than-average production costs and was filmed in color, though originally broadcast in black-and-white. High production costs are believed to have prevented a second season, and 20th Century-Fox offered the series as one of its first rerun syndication packages.
