FaZe Sniping debuted on YouTube on May 30, 2010, as a Call of Duty clan founded by Eric 'CLipZ' Rivera, Jeff 'House Cat' Emann (now known as 'Timid'), and Ben 'Resistance' Christensen. The trio innovated trickshotting in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Their YouTube content took off when Ted 'Fakie' joined, and FaZe unveiled the ILLCAMS series. In 2012, the channel reached one million subscribers. The original CEO, Thomas 'Temperrr' Oliveira, and COO Richard 'Banks' Bengtson created the first FaZe shared home in 2014 in Plainview, New York. In 2015, Hubrick invested in FaZe Clan. In January 2016, FaZe acquired G2 Esports's Counter-Strike: Global Offensive international lineup. In 2017, Bengtson moved to Los Angeles, starting the Clout House. In 2018, Greg Selkoe became president and Lee Trink became CEO. In October 2023, FaZe Holdings was acquired by GameSquare in an all stock deal. In May 2024, GameSquare announced the formation of FaZe Media, spinning off FaZe Holdings into FaZe Esports and FaZe Media. In December 2025, an exodus of members caused FaZe Media to shut down.
