Lore & Background
WWE Immortals borrowed technical elements from the mobile version of Injustice: Gods Among Us, including graphics, sound, and a three-versus-three combat format. At launch, 25 purchasable heroes were available across bronze, silver, and gold tiers, with a challenge mode offering the gold Cyborg Brock Lesnar until January 31, 2015. Players earned Immortal Credits through gameplay to buy and upgrade characters, signature attacks, and talent cards, and could also purchase booster packs.
Reader's Guide
The game featured Battle matches, Challenge stages, online competitive play, and later updates introduced the Ladder Event and Platinum characters on June 29, 2017, as well as a Zombie Invasion mode. Players could upgrade characters to level 50 and to Legendary status up to Legendary Level VII by owning duplicate cards. The iOS version received mixed or average reviews on Metacritic. Its significance lies in its attempt to merge WWE's wrestling personas with fantasy and fighting game mechanics, though it was ultimately shut down in 2019.
