Life and work
The club was founded by Ayuntamiento workers, which gave it the name Municipal.[2] In 1948, the team won its first international honors at a friendly tournament in Havana, Cuba, commemorating Cuban Independence.[3] Other early home grounds included the Estadio Autonomía.[4] The Estadio Manuel Felipe Carrera, known as "Estadio El Trébol," serves as the training venue and has occasionally hosted official matches.[4]
When the main stadium is unavailable, the team plays at Estadio La Pedrera, which also contains a soup kitchen in its basement.[4] In both league matches and all competitions combined, Juan Carlos Plata holds the record for the most goals scored for the club.[5]
What the cited sources add
The club's official website, Rojos, features video content about the team's training, matches, and women's squad, including a video titled "CSD MUNICIPAL FEMENIL"[6] The same site also promotes a "TÍTULO 33" and a "PRETEMPORADA 26/27"[6] The "Historia, Rojos del Municipal" page similarly displays video content about the club's activities and women's team.[7]
