I Wish You Love: More from The Bodyguard

I Wish You Love: More from The Bodyguard is a 25th-anniversary reissue of Whitney Houston’s 1992 soundtrack album *The Bodyguard*. It was released after her death on November 17, 2017, through Legacy Recordings. The album marks a quarter-century since the film *The Bodyguard*, which was Houston’s first movie role.

The reissue includes the film versions of Houston’s six contributions to the original soundtrack: “I Will Always Love You,” “I Have Nothing,” “I’m Every Woman,” “Run to You,” “Queen of the Night,” and “Jesus Loves Me.” It also features remixes and live recordings of these songs, taken from her 1993–1994 Bodyguard World Tour.

The album’s release was timed with a tribute to Houston and the film’s music at the 45th American Music Awards, performed by Christina Aguilera. Before the performance, Aguilera wrote on Instagram that she was “excited, honored and humbled to perform a tribute to one of my idols.”

Following Aguilera’s tribute, *I Wish You Love: More from The Bodyguard* debuted at number 165 on the Billboard 200, selling 6,000 copies in its first week (ending December 9, 2017). It also entered the Soundtracks chart at number 9, the Top R&B Albums chart at number 22, and the Top Album Sales chart at number 61. In Belgium, it peaked at number 133 on November 25, 2017.

The track listing includes alternate mixes, film versions, and live performances. Personnel credits list Whitney Houston on vocals, with producers and arrangers including David Foster, Narada Michael Walden, L.A. Reid, Babyface, and Daryl Simmons. Live recordings were captured at venues such as Jerudong Park Amphitheatre in Brunei, Radio City Music Hall in New York, Estadio Vélez Sarsfield in Buenos Aires, The Spectrum in Philadelphia, Earls Court Exhibition Centre in London, and Deutschlandhalle in Berlin. The Bodyguard World Tour band featured musicians like Rickey Minor, Paul Jackson Jr., Michael Baker, and Kirk Whalum, with backing vocals from Gary Houston, Alfie Silas, and others. Production and design credits include A&R from Jeffrey James and Lisa Del Greco, art direction by Tina Ibanez, and mastering by Mark Wilder.
