Lore & Background

During the Horus Heresy, the galaxy was torn apart as half of the Space Marine Legions turned against their creator. The Loyalists fought a brutal civil war across thousands of worlds to stop the Warmaster's advance on Terra. Their victory came at a terrible cost, with many Legions shattered and most Primarchs lost forever in the conflict. To prevent future treason, the surviving leaders reorganized the Astartes under the Codex Astartes. This new doctrine broke the massive Legions into smaller, manageable Chapters of one thousand warriors each. These new units became the standard for all Loyalist Space Marines, ensuring no single commander could ever amass enough power to challenge the throne again. In the current 41st Millennium, these warriors are known as the Angels of Death. They patrol the fringes of human space, engaging in eternal warfare against mutants, aliens, and daemons. Their existence is a constant reminder that peace is only maintained through overwhelming force and absolute vigilance.
