The Plains of Eidolon update of November 2017 added Warframe's first open-world area: a semi-open world on Earth reached through the hub settlement of Cetus, home of the Ostrons, described in-game as a tight-knit band of hucksters and merchants, and later directly from the player's ship.
Lore & Background
The update brought reputation with the Ostrons, fishing and mining, a five-mission Bounty system, the quest Saya's Vigil, which rewards the blueprint for the Warframe Gara, a modular Operator weapon called an Amp and a modular blade called a Zaw. Its boss fights are the Eidolons, Sentient-origin titans. Fortuna, on Venus, later expanded on the same concepts.
