Lore & Background

The game follows the Banefuls and the Vampirics, two ancient rival demonic bloodlines. After the Vampiric sisters Kagura and Saaya defeated their treacherous adoptive mother, the Vampire Queen Carmilla, aided by the Baneful sisters Aya and Saki, the truce ended and the two sets of sisters battled for supremacy. The floor collapsed beneath them, sending the four into an abyss, where they glimpsed a mysterious green-haired woman now sitting in Carmilla's throne. Separated from their sisters, they formed uneasy alliances for survival. Kagura was forced to drink Aya's blood to regenerate after being critically injured, fusing the bloodlines and allowing her to transform into a powerful new form called Dare Drive. Saaya and Saki escaped a pocket hell dimension and were attacked by a masked undead assassin, Misha, who seriously injured Saaya. Saaya then fed on Saki's blood to recover and transform into her own Dare Drive. The four girls worked together to force Misha to retreat. Advised by their friend Anna of the Zombie Prevention Force (ZPF), they wiped out zombie outbreaks around the world, which were diversions for Misha to attack the ZPF Headquarters. The girls chased Misha and eventually defeated her, revealing Misha was actually Misery, a rival Baneful resurrected by the green-haired woman. The green-haired woman, Evangeline (Evange), revealed her goal to create a world by fusing the bloodlines. The party slew her, and the girls agreed to put the blood feud behind them. Anna later revealed Evange was a researcher working for Carmilla and Misery's older sister.

Praise was given to the game's character models and addictive combat, while criticism was drawn to its dated environmental graphics. Famitsu reviewers gave it a combined score of 31/40. Kyle MacGregor of Destructoid awarded a 5.5/10, praising combat, character designs, and sexual fan service, but criticizing the linear and repetitive mission structure and enemy AI. Adam Beck of Hardcore Gamer gave a 4/10, applauding customization and fluid swordplay but criticizing poor dialog, bad mission structure, repetitive combat, and short game length, though he called it one of the better entries in the series.
