Dig (2026 TV series)

Dig is an upcoming comedy series for television, created by Michael Schur and Amy Poehler. It adapts Kate Myers’s 2023 novel *Excavations*, with Myers serving as an executive producer. The plot centers on four archaeologists working a dig in Greece who stumble upon a secret that pulls them into an international conspiracy.

The main cast includes Amy Poehler as Elise, Geraldine Viswanathan as Dylan—who returns to the Greek dig after five years to settle unfinished business—and Fina Strazza as Patty, an American undergraduate assistant to a British professor, experiencing her first time outside the U.S. Antonia Thomas plays Clare, the head preservationist overseeing the site’s lab and museum, a character more at ease with privilege than with the dig’s casual atmosphere. Hugh Laurie portrays Neville, a British professor devoted to archaeology who sees himself as an inspiring mentor. Guest stars include Kayvan Novak, Jon Pointing, and Bonita Friedericy.

Peacock announced the series in May 2025, marking the latest collaboration between Schur and Poehler, who previously worked together on *Parks and Recreation* and *The Good Place*. J.J. Philbin, Schur’s wife, joined as executive producer and writer. Hugh Laurie and Geraldine Viswanathan were added to the cast in December 2025, followed by Fina Strazza and Antonia Thomas. Guest stars were announced in August 2026. Filming ran from January 12, 2026, to May 7, 2026. The series is scheduled for release on Peacock, though no official date has been confirmed.
