Association team allocation

The association ranking based on UEFA futsal national team coefficients determined the number of participating teams per association. The top three-ranked associations could enter two teams. The winners of the 2019–20 UEFA Futsal Champions League qualified automatically, allowing their association to also enter a second team; if that association was among the top three, the fourth-ranked association could also enter two teams. All other associations could enter one team, typically the winners of their top domestic league.

For this season, the top three associations were Spain, Portugal and Russia, each entering two teams. As the title holders were from Spain, the fourth-ranked association, Kazakhstan, could also enter two teams. Teams were ranked by their UEFA futsal club coefficients, computed from the last three seasons, to decide the round they entered and their seeding. A total of 55 teams from 51 of the 55 UEFA member associations participated.

The title holders and the eight teams with the highest coefficients received byes to the round of 32; the other 46 teams entered the preliminary round. Teams in italics were declared champions or selected following an abandoned season due to the COVID-19 pandemic, subject to UEFA approval.

Preliminary round

The preliminary round draw took place on 27 October 2020 at 13:30 CET. The 46 teams were ranked using UEFA futsal club coefficients. Before the draw, clubs that could not host matches informed UEFA. The teams were split into six groups, each with the same number of seeded and unseeded sides, which were drawn separately. The process first matched a seeded host against an unseeded non-host, with the seeded team at home. Next, a seeded non-host faced an unseeded host, giving the unseeded side home advantage. Finally, a seeded host was drawn against an unseeded host, with the first team drawn playing at home. These matches took place from 24 to 29 November 2020.

Final tournament

The eight winners of the round of 16 played in the final tournament, which consisted of quarter-finals, semi-finals and the final, with no third place match. It was held between 28 April and 3 May 2021 at the Krešimir Ćosić Hall in Zadar, Croatia. The eight teams were seeded 1–8 based on their UEFA futsal club coefficients, with the title holders automatically seeded first. The bracket was determined by the seeding without any draw. Times were listed as CEST (UTC+2).
