Blue States (band)
English electronic music project blending samples, live instruments, and vocals.
Andy Dragazis, a multi-instrumentalist and producer, launched Blue States in London in 1997. The project blends electronic production, samples, and live instruments into a cinematic sound, later branching into guitar- and vocal-driven work. The track "Season Song," from the second album *Man Mountain* (2001), appeared in the psychological thriller *The Jacket* (2005).
Blue States has functioned both as Dragazis’s solo venture and as a full band. For the 2005 album *The Soundings*, singer-guitarist Chris Carr and drummer Jon Chandler became permanent members; afterward, Dragazis largely worked alone again. Following a long break, the project released *Restless Spheres* (2015) and *World Contact Day* (2021).
