Lore & Background
The film opens when a little girl, Julie, wakes up to find herself in a small concealed room. When the room starts filling with cement, she is buried alive. Fifteen years later, Samantha 'Sam' Walczak, a recent engineering graduate, supervises the demolition of the Malestrazza Building. She discovers the building was the scene of murders where sixteen people were entombed in the walls. The architect, Malestrazza, orchestrated the murders as human sacrifice, believing that only the Great Pyramid of Giza still stands because workers were killed and buried during its construction. Mary, the caretaker, imprisoned Malestrazza after her husband and daughter (Julie) were among his victims. Sam is trapped in a shaft with Malestrazza, eventually kills him, and is rescued after Jimmy throws himself off the roof.
