Reader's Guide
Croft Manor is the primary residence of Lara Croft, located in England. It is where she lives with her technical assistant Bryce and butler Hillary. The manor features a training exercise arena that simulates an Egyptian tomb, complete with a robot that Lara defeats in practice. A strange clock is hidden somewhere inside the manor, which Lara discovers after being awakened by a ticking sound. The manor also contains a memorial to Lara's father, Lord Richard Croft. Armed commandos invade the manor to steal the clock, and a prearranged letter from Lara's father arrives there the next morning. After her adventures, Lara returns to the manor, where Bryce has reprogrammed the robot and Hillary presents her with her pistols.
