Background

Its special feature is the 'Dismantling Show': members lure unsuspecting human 'guests' to the restaurant, have them shower and change into formal wear, and trap them in an arena with the Scrapper, a human slave trained to kill the 'meals' as a show for the members, after which the staff prepare the bodies and serve them. The main restaurant in the series was in the 7th Ward and was destroyed by Kaneki's group; its members included Shuu Tsukiyama, known there as MM, who later defected, and Maiko Abe, Madam A, and Ken Kaneki survived being brought there as a victim.

Other restaurants exist, and the CCG's Auction Mopping-up Operation confirmed they are tied to a large black market and human-trafficking network; the deaths of Big Madam and Nutcracker badly disrupted them. The restaurant seems to be based on Kenji Miyazawa's short story 'The Restaurant with Many Orders', which Kaneki mentions when he realises the truth.
