Warlock's Daughter

Fictional character biography

Darla Aquista, the daughter of Gotham mob boss Henry Aquista, strongly opposed her father's criminal life. On his first day at Louis E. Grieve Memorial High School, she encountered Tim Drake as he attempted to skip class, and she developed an interest in him. Henry assumed Tim was too intimidated by the mafia connection to ask Darla out. Soon after, Henry received a call from Johnny Warlock, a mobster and sorcerer, who wanted him to create a crime wave to lure out Robin.

Warlock's Daughter

Tim then told Darla he was already in a relationship with Stephanie Brown. Hurt and believing Tim simply did not like her, Darla walked away in tears. During the "Batman: War Games" storyline, a rival gang murdered Darla. Henry traveled the globe seeking a way to bring her back, eventually returning to Johnny Warlock.

Warlock sacrificed Henry's life to resurrect Darla, transforming her into Warlock's Daughter. She adopted the alias Laura Fell and became Warlock's apprentice. When Laura reunited with Tim, she explained she could be with him only after settling a debt by killing Robin. Tim arranged for Superboy to impersonate Robin, hoping to trick Laura into thinking she had succeeded.

Superboy survived the attack but suffered serious injuries due to his vulnerability to magic. A week later, during The OMAC Project, Laura appeared in Blüdhaven as the city was besieged by OMACs. Johnny Warlock arrived to take her to safety. After fighting off Warlock, Robin found Laura missing.

Shadowpact

Locating her, he suggested she join Shadowpact. Following Infinite Crisis, Shadowpact members became trapped behind a mystic barrier after defeating a group of magical enemies. They destroyed the barrier but paid a price: they "lost a year." Though only a few days had passed for them, a full year had elapsed for the outside world.

One of their first actions afterward was to retrieve Laura Fell from the tower of Joshua Coldrake. Laura temporarily joined Shadowpact to help recover Blue Devil's trident from Hell.
