First Apocalypse

Background

Five is ultimately left alone during the apocalypse and survives on his own; the only other survivor is Dolores, a mannequin that Five grows fond of. Five also finds a prosthetic eye, originally belonging to Harold Jenkins. After spending 45 years alone on Earth, Five is greeted by the Handler, the head of the Temps Commission, who recruits him as an assassin eliminating forces that threaten to alter the original timeline. During the JFK assassination, Five is able to travel back in time to stop the apocalypse, arriving eight days before it with only the prosthetic eye and the date to go on.

Reginald Hargreeves feared Viktor's power more than the others': he gave Viktor pills that suppressed the volatile abilities, kept him in a titanium room and had a young Allison brainwash Viktor into thinking he was 'just ordinary'. Viktor's violin student 'Leonard' (really Harold Jenkins) throws away the pills and teaches Viktor to use the power. After Viktor slashes Allison's throat in distress, kills Leonard, and is locked in a confinement cell by Luther, his powers go haywire and destroy the manor, killing Grace and Pogo.

At the Icarus Theatre concert the Umbrella Academy seeks Viktor out. Luther, Diego, Five and Klaus attack at once, but Viktor suspends them with energy tendrils that drain the life from the brothers. Allison sneaks up behind Viktor and fires a pistol next to his ear, ruining his concentration; the unintentional outburst of energy tears the moon apart and sends its pieces hurtling towards Earth. The siblings escape in the final moments when Five time-travels and takes them with him.
