The Purge: Anarchy
The Purge leaves the house and takes to the streets of Los Angeles.
The Purge: Anarchy is a 2014 action horror film written and directed by James DeMonaco. It is a sequel to The Purge and the second film in the franchise, starring Frank Grillo, Carmen Ejogo, Zach Gilford, Kiele Sanchez and Michael K. Williams, with Edwin Hodge returning from the first film.
In a near-future United States ruled by the totalitarian New Founding Fathers of America, the annual Purge makes every crime legal for 12 hours, while an anti-Purge resistance fights the NFFA.

Background
Where the first film stayed almost entirely inside one house, Anarchy moves across Greater Los Angeles to show what happens in the streets during the night. Set in 2023, it follows off-duty LAPD sergeant Leo Barnes, out to avenge his son, who rescues waitress Eva Sanchez and her daughter Cali from NFFA paramilitaries and takes in Shane and Liz, a couple whose car has broken down, as the group tries to survive the night. Released on 18 July 2014, it grossed more than $111 million and drew mixed reviews that called it an improvement on its predecessor. It was followed by The Purge: Election Year in 2016.
