Lore & Background
It was recorded in Paris at Studio des Dames in August 1983, after a one-off concert in Brittany, in the same jazz-tinged sessions as the B-sides "Speak My Language" and "Mr. Pink Eyes". Some fans link the song to Patrick White's novel The Vivisector, in which a sack of stray cats is drowned, though that story is hard to confirm.
