Random is a Prince of Amber, the youngest of Oberon's children, and a sneaky rascal who becomes Corwin's ally. He is a gambler by nature, and his loyalty to Corwin places him in opposition to Eric's rule. Though he initially appears untrustworthy, his actions in the novel demonstrate a capacity for friendship and courage.
