Gloria

Lore & Background

Gloria's significance lies in her ability to walk both Pattern and Logrus without succumbing to the madness or death that usually befalls those who attempt it. This duality makes her a target for various factions, including the ruthless forces of Oberon and the manipulative schemes of Merlin. Her journey involves navigating the treacherous politics of the Courts while trying to maintain her own identity amidst the overwhelming pressures of cosmic forces.

Reader's Guide

Gloria's origin is not rooted in the bloodline of Oberon or Llewella. Instead, she emerged from the chaotic energies of Shadow itself, shaped by the will of Dworkin who sought to create an entity capable of bridging the gap between Order and Chaos. Her specific powers include the ability to manipulate Logrus directly, a feat usually reserved for the most powerful sorcerers or those born of Chaos, while also maintaining stability through Pattern's structure. Within the family dynamics, she is considered a daughter figure to Dworkin, who acts as her mentor and protector. She shares a complex romantic bond with Corwin, Prince of Amber, which serves as a focal point for the union of their respective worlds. Her major arc involves surviving the machinations of Merlin and other Chaos lords while helping to stabilize the fragile balance between the two realms during the Shadow Wars.
