Wildlife Aid
After a fire in 1996 destroyed one third of the hospital complex, Simon Cowell's organisation became reliant on media attention for survival. Representatives of the newly formed Animal Planet channel approached Cowell to produce a television series about the wildlife rescue facility. The series has been cited as the longest-running animal rescue TV series and continues to broadcast on Animal Planet and other Discovery Communications channels. Originally 30-minute episodes, the format changed to 60 minutes in 2012. The 2014 series consists of shorter episodes available on the WildlifeAidTV YouTube channel.
