**Trapped!** (retitled **Trapped!: Ever After** for its final series) is a British children's television game show that blends dark fantasy with adventure. It originally aired on BBC channels from 28 September 2007 to 4 November 2010.
The show takes place in a gloomy, six-floor tower that, according to the opening titles, sits on a small island in the middle of the ocean. Each episode begins with "The Caretaker" (played by Simon Greenall), a world traveller who came to the tower seeking a single good night's sleep but was imprisoned there by "The Voice" (voiced by Eve Karpf in series 1 and Faith Brown from series 2 to 4) for trespassing. To earn his freedom, the Caretaker must trap as many children—called "Unfortunates"—as the Voice decides are necessary.
Six human children compete per episode. They are brought to the tower by another captive, "Wiley Sneak" (played by Olly Pike). Locked in a cage that works like a lift, the children are winched down from the top of the tower by the Caretaker using a simple wheel and pulley system. One child is eliminated, or "trapped," on each floor, and the last child standing receives the "Key of Freedom" and escapes. The Caretaker watches the action from his attic via a "Watch Tank," a large, fragile globe in a frame that provides a 360-degree overhead view of the relevant floor.
**Trapped!
Each contestant wears a "Whisper Clip," an earpiece receiver, throughout the competition. Before each challenge, the Voice secretly chooses one child to be the "Saboteur" and instructs them via the Whisper Clip to make the team fail without being discovered. If the team passes the challenge, the Saboteur is automatically trapped on that floor, and the others move down. If the team fails, each contestant votes for who they think the Saboteur is; the person with the most votes is trapped, regardless of whether they were actually the Saboteur. In a tie, a "draw straws" box is used, and the child who draws the shortest straw is trapped.
The final two contestants face "The Fight for Freedom," a timed quiz with alternating questions about the episode's events. When time runs out, the higher scorer wins and uses the Key of Freedom to leave the tower.
