From Game Studio to Streaming Screen

Bethesda had fielded multiple pitches for a Fallout television adaptation since 2008, yet producer Todd Howard felt none captured the spirit of the franchise. The project finally took shape when Amazon acquired the live-action rights in 2020, announcing the series that July. Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy's Kilter Films partnered with Bethesda Game Studios on production, with Nolan helming the first three episodes.
