Production
On May 4, 2023, CBS announced the series order. The premiere date of October 2, 2023 was announced on August 3, 2023, as part of a fall schedule affected by the 2023 Hollywood labor disputes. Camil served as host and co-executive producer alongside veteran game show producer Jeff Apploff. He hoped the series would resonate with Hispanic viewers, noting he frequently played Lotería with friends and family in Mexico. The set design was inspired by rural Mexican villages; Camil suggested the production team visit one of Mexico's Pueblos Mágicos. Due to low viewership—never exceeding a 0.2 household rating and a series-low 1.1 million viewers on October 30—CBS pulled the show from its schedule on October 31, 2023, filling the timeslot with NCIS encores and Let's Make a Deal primetime specials. A holiday-themed episode aired on December 24, 2023.
