Format
Each episode featured three two-person teams competing for cash and prizes. One teammate stood at a podium handling the questions, while the other moved along a separate path of ten television monitors. The moving contestant began at the first monitor and needed to advance nine steps to reach the end. The team currently in control picked a category and saw a list of six possible answers. The answering contestant then decided whether to answer two, three, or four questions. As correct answers were given, they were removed from the list. When the final question was answered correctly, the teammate on the path earned the right to move forward one step for each question played. If the answering contestant got a question wrong, the next team in line could try to steal control by answering that same question and any remaining ones. If every team missed the same question, the category was discarded and the original team received a new one. After the question phase, the moving contestant advanced step by step, pressing a button under each monitor. Each press revealed either a prize—cash or merchandise—or a Hot Spot, with five to eight Hot Spots hidden on the path. Finding a prize let the team either bank it and stop, or risk it and continue if they had more moves left. Hitting a Hot Spot cost them all unbanked prizes and ended the turn. If a team made it through all their moves without a Hot Spot, every prize they found that turn was automatically banked. After a turn ended for any reason, the next team in line took control.
