Barbie Dreamtopia is a web-based children's media franchise created by Julia Pistor for Mattel Television, active from 14 January 2016 to 21 October 2021. It was originally produced by Israeli animation studio Snowball Studios with support from The Jerusalem Film & Television Fund. A spin-off mini-serial titled Barbie: Return to Dreamtopia was produced by Relish Studios as part of the broader Barbie's Dreamworld franchise.

Broadcast
Dreamtopia began with a teaser promo video on 14 January 2016. The shorts followed from 5 May to 21 July 2016, initially as a YouTube Kids-exclusive production before becoming available on YouTube. A 46-minute television special was distributed by Universal Pictures Home Entertainment and broadcast in five countries and regions on 26 June 2016. Its success led to a web series, with four episodes released early on YouTube and YouTube Kids on 4 May 2017. Weekly episodes ran from 5 November 2017 to 1 April 2018. The series debuted on Cartoon Network in Australia and New Zealand on 2 March 2018, and on Kabillion and KidsClick in the United States on 7 September and 24 September 2018, respectively.
The series
At MIPCOM 2016, Mattel Creations announced the greenlighting of an eponymous web series, citing the success of the June 2016 television film. Created by Julia Pistor with assistance from Saul Blinkoff and majority-directed by Eran Lazar, the web series was first released on YouTube Kids and later on YouTube from 5 November 2017 to 1 April 2018. It debuted on American television via KidsClick on 24 September 2018 and on South African television via eToonz on 25 March 2019. Several games tied to the series were listed on Barbie.com during its run and discontinued in 2022.
