Premise
The animated series takes place in the fictional town of Stilesville and follows four teenage girls—Cloe, Jade, Sasha, and Yasmin—as they produce their own magazine called "Bratz" while navigating high school life at Stiles High. Their main competition is the magazine "Your Thing," which is run by the arrogant and self-styled "Reigning Queen of Fashion" Burdine Maxwell, along with her nasty identical twin interns, Kirstee and Kaycee, who are known as "the Tweevils." The girls are supported by their friends Dylan, Cameron, and Eitan, and their personal problems are often exploited throughout the story, both in and outside of Stilesville.
Cloe, nicknamed Angel, handles the "Dear Cloe" advice column for the magazine. She has a romantic, dreamy, and outgoing personality, but is also highly dramatic, which suits her interests in acting and debating. Though she loves shopping and fashion, she shows a tomboy side through skateboarding and riding a motorcycle. Her romantic interest is Cameron. In the first season, Cloe was voiced by Olivia Hack, and by Britt McKillip in the second.
Sasha, whose nickname is Bunny Boo, works as the music editor and focuses on hip-hop dancing and songwriting. She is bold and sassy, though this can sometimes lead to perfectionism and a controlling nature. Her catchphrase is "Let's move, People!" Like Cloe, she occasionally displays a tomboy style in her clothing. Sasha is a natural leader. Tia Mowry voiced her in season one, and Dorla Bell took over in season two.
Jade, known as Kool Kat, is the fashion editor and has a bubbly, open, and sensitive personality. After Burdine unfairly fired her from an internship at "Your Thing," the group decided to start their own magazine. Soleil Moon Frye voiced Jade in the first season, with Britt Irvin voicing her in the second.
Yasmin, called Pretty Princess, serves as the main journalist because of her love for literature. She is sensitive, sweet, and intelligent, with a strong philanthropic streak that includes running her own animal shelter. Her love interest is Eitan. Dionne Quan voiced Yasmin in season one, and Maryke Hendrikse in season two.
Spin-off media
The Bratz franchise expanded beyond dolls into films and video games. Several spin-off series were created, including Bratz Babyz and Bratz Kidz, alongside reboots like Bratzillaz and the Bratz: C.I.Y. Shoppe webseries, which featured new storylines. In 2021, the web series Talking' Bratz debuted on the official Bratz TikTok page, using CGI animation similar to the original show. Set in the same universe, it brought back voice actors Olivia Hack as Cloe and Ogie Banks as Dylan. The cast also included Soleil Moon Frye, Tia Mowry, Dionne Quan, Wendie Malick, Lacey Chabert, and Kaley Cuoco.
