Format
Each episode features four chefs competing to prepare a three-course meal. The competition has three rounds: Appetizer, Entrée, and Dessert. In each round, chefs receive a mystery basket with four ingredients that are not commonly combined. They also have access to a pantry and refrigerator stocked with additional ingredients.
The Appetizer round is timed at twenty or thirty minutes, while the Entrée and Dessert rounds each allow thirty minutes. Chefs must complete four platings—three for the judges and one beauty plate—before time expires. After each round, three celebrity judges evaluate the dishes on presentation, taste, and creativity. The chef with the worst dish is eliminated; the host reveals the decision by lifting a cloche on the judges' table, and one judge explains the reasoning.
By the Dessert round, only two chefs remain. The winner is determined based on both the final round dishes and overall performance, receiving $10,000 and the title of Chopped Canada Champion.
