Breathtaking is a British medical drama television series based on Rachel Clarke's 2021 memoir about the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic. The three-part series stars Joanne Froggatt and was directed by Craig Viveiros. It was written by Clarke, Jed Mercurio, and Prasanna Puwanarajah.

Production
Rachel Clarke's memoir about frontline COVID-19 work was published in 2021. Mercurio and Puwanarajah, both qualified doctors, helped adapt it for television; Puwanarajah had previously worked with Clarke as a medical professional and with Mercurio on TV productions. Craig Viveiros directed, with HTM Television and Northern Ireland Screen producing. Brian J. Falconer produced, and Mercurio, Clarke, and Puwanarajah served as executive producers. ITV Studios was an in-association producer and international distributor. Filming took place in Belfast and wrapped in the first half of 2023. Viveiros used long, real-time sequences to create an immersive experience.
