Synopsis

The series follows teenagers Chase, Jinja, and Bren, who come into possession of re-awakened Monster DNA called Monsuno. Accompanied by their Monsuno—Lock, Charger, and Quickforce—they search for Chase's father Jeredy Suno, the creator of the Monsuno. They are joined by Beyal, a Himalayan monk with his Monsuno Glowblade, who speaks of five people who could change the world with their Monsuno. The fifth is Dax, a teenager with his Monsuno Airswitch who opposes the team and has yet to be befriended. The group is pursued by S.T.O.R.M. (Strategic Tactical Operatives for Recovery of Monsuno), led by Marshall Charlemagne, and by the scientist Dr. Emanuel Klipse. In later events, Jeredy Suno returns, and new adversaries emerge: The Forge Resistance, which uses Wild Core Bombs; the S.T.O.R.M. Strike Squad; the Hand of Destiny, ancient tribes from underground; and Six, a clone of Dr. Klipse. Team Core-Tech must connect more deeply with their Monsuno. The series continues after Monsuno: Combat Chaos, with Core-Tech and S.T.O.R.M. merging, new Dino Monsuno, and the Hand of Destiny's non-shapeshifting alien Monsuno. Returning characters include the Bookman and Grandma Future. Team Core-Tech gains Hyper Monsuno to face these threats.

Characters

Characters are accompanied by Monsunos, giant high-tech mechanical hybrid monsters contained in cylinder regeneration chambers called cores. Chase Suno, voiced by Cam Clarke in English and by Kenn in Japanese, is a brave 14-year-old leader of Team Core-Tech. In the first season, he searches for his father Jeredy Suno, who disappeared while experimenting with Monsuno Essence. In the second season, he has visions of his believed-deceased mother Sophia and confronts the Hand of Destiny. Jinja, voiced by Karen Strassman in English and by Asami Tano in Japanese, is a sassy tomboy who is first into battle and supports Chase. She initially showed interest in Beyal but became more calm about it later. Bren, voiced by Christopher Corey Smith in English and by Chihiro Suzuki in Japanese, is a timid but inquisitive computer programmer and hacker who decodes technology and has a playful antagonistic relationship with Jinja.
