Synopsis
The series documents the daily lives of Lindsay Lohan's family, centering on her mother and manager Dina and younger sister Aliana's efforts to enter show business. Other family members appearing include brother Dakota "Cody" Lohan and grandmother Ann "Nana" Sullivan, a former radio actress. Music producer Jeremy Greene assists Aliana with her debut album. Dina stated that a second season did not occur because producers wanted fabricated storylines such as her son cheating or her faking a pregnancy, which she refused.
Critical reception
Gillian Flynn of Entertainment Weekly gave the show an F grade, stating that irritation turned to repulsion within the first minute and that Dina's complaints about paparazzi were hypocritical. Troy Patterson of Slate magazine described the series as crisply edited and tangily ironic, but called it an exploitative mess that commodifies Ali Lohan's youth and soul. Mark A. Perigard of the Boston Herald graded it a D, saying it scrapes the bottom of the stupidity barrel. Brian Lowry of Variety called it a tedious exercise with limited appeal, providing unintended comedy but being profoundly boring. Anderson Cooper, appearing on Live with Regis and Kelly, criticized the show during the opening segment, and his comments were later featured on The Soup's "Top 20 Best Clips of the Year."
