Robotix

Robotix is an American animated series from 1985, based on the Milton Bradley construction toyline of the same name. The toyline, similar to Erector Set and K'Nex, includes motors, wheels, and pincers. The show aired as part of the Super Sunday programming block. It depicts a conflict between the peaceful Protectons and the aggressive Terrakors on the prehistoric alien planet Skalorr V, set in the distant past. Two groups of humans from the year 200X become involved in the struggle. The series was produced by Sunbow Productions and Marvel Productions, with animation by Japan's Toei Animation, which also worked on other Super Sunday cartoons.

**Protectons**

Argus "Ark" Power Electronixus, voiced by Arthur Burghardt, leads the Protectons. Before being placed in his Robotix body, he commanded the Protectonian spacecraft city Zanadon and had a romantic relationship with Nara. He is compassionate and brave, often helping the humans, and despises killing so much that he would harm himself rather than let others use him to kill. He nearly had a breakdown upon learning his mind and life force were transferred into his robot shell. His body is a monster/dragon/dog hybrid with a long neck used as a ramrod, a hook for a right hand that converts into a gun, and a design between a firetruck and an airliner. It can transform into a car-like form, a compact mode with retracted limbs, laser cannons from its chest, and includes a K-series drone dog named K-9. His pilot of choice is Exeter.

Bront, voiced by Frank Welker, is the strongest, tough-guy Protecton. He previously maintained Zanadon's command center and activated its battle mode. He is close friends with Jerrok, who once teased him for his small size. Their trust was strained when Bront was wrongly accused of sabotaging Zanadon's reactor and nearly attacked Kontor and Jerrok, but they reconciled. His Robotix body is a monster/dragon hybrid with four wheels on walker legs that can extend for river crossings and turn into feet. It transforms into a car-like form with a deployable grabber, an extended torso forming a ladder, a twin-shell laser cannon on its forehead, hands that become smaller legs and combine into a drill, a two-man space cockpit, a cam-operated jaw, swivel joints, and articulated elbows. His pilot is Tauron.
