Premise

Set in Portland, Oregon, the series follows Marvin, a teenage alien from Klooton sent to Earth by his parents to escape evil invaders. Under the care of human parents Bob and Liz, he attempts to fit in as a typical American teenager. His siblings Teri and Henry, along with his grandfather Pop-Pop, help him navigate unfamiliar social customs while concealing his identity from the world.

Cast

Lucas Cruikshank portrays Marvin Forman, a teenage alien from Klooton who is actually 580 years old and hides his true form behind a human appearance. His powers include freezing and heating objects with his fingers, talking to animals, shapeshifting, floating, and using the Klootonian Calm Palm. He adopts the name Marvin Marvin after nervously repeating his first name as a last name. Victory Van Tuyl is Teri Forman, the older sister, and Jacob Bertrand plays Henry Forman, the mischievous younger brother who turns 10 in the episode Burger on a Bun. Camille Spirlin portrays Brianna, Teri's best friend who learns Marvin's secret in Space-Cation. Angel Amaral appears as Ben, Marvin's nerdy human best friend, and Dennis Atlas plays Derek Winfeld, a school kid who believes he is a horse.

Reception

Marvin Marvin received mostly negative reviews. Common Sense Media gave the show 2 out of 5 stars, noting that while it reminds viewers to be themselves, the message is lost amid outrageous predicaments. Media Life Magazine called the series bland, and Brian Lowry of Variety described it as a teeth-gnashing affair with stale gags. The series premiere drew 2.6 million viewers, while the most watched episodes, Ice Pop Pop and Burger on a Bun, each had 2.9 million viewers.
