Plot
Leela argued with Farnsworth about his latest changes to Bessie before a delivery run, but he brushed her off. The ship barely made it out of the hangar before crashing. Sal hauled Bessie away, and Farnsworth snuck into the scrapyard that night, vowing to rebuild her as a hot-rod from the junk lying around. The next morning, he flew out in Bessie, now a mangled heap of spare parts. Two muscle-hovercars pulled up alongside, and Farnsworth goaded them into a race. The police joined the chase, but Farnsworth shook them off using a dimensional drift device he had installed overnight. Back at headquarters, Leela showed off the replacement ship: a dull gray box with no personality. Hermes sent her to buy groceries and drop Fry and Bender at karate class. On her way back, Farnsworth pulled up in his hot-rod and taunted her for not being cool. Leela shot back that she could still outdrive him in her boring ship. They raced on a looped track, and Farnsworth hit the dimensional drift again, but this time he slammed into Leela’s ship. Fry was standing between them at the moment of impact, and the collision squashed him, both ships, and everyone into a neat, flat disc. Onlookers assumed they were dead. A two-dimensional Farnsworth figured out that the relativistic crash had flattened them into two dimensions. Bender showed up, saying he had been napping on Leela’s ship. Two beings called the Lords of Flatbush arrived and announced a feast in their honor. At the feast, Farnsworth tried to explain three dimensions to the King of Flatbush, which enraged the King, who ordered his execution. The group fled back to the two ships. Leela suggested using the dimensional drift device to return to the 3-D world. Just as Sal and the others in the 3-D world started cremating the disc-shaped remains, those remains transformed back into the normal Bessie and her normal passengers. Everything was fine, and Hermes noted the whole ordeal had taken only about five minutes.
