Plot

All the fairies in Fairy World celebrate Timmy Turner's Fairy-versary, marking a year of keeping his fairy godparents secret. Jorgen Von Strangle gives Timmy a magical muffin that allows anyone who eats it to make a rule-free wish. After the party, Timmy asks how Cosmo and Wanda became his godparents; Wanda shows a flashback revealing that his parents lied to an 8-year-old Timmy and tricked him into hiring Vicky as his babysitter. Upset, Timmy inadvertently wishes that his parents could only tell him the truth, causing them to feel guilty and count their lies. Timmy takes the muffin to school, followed by his fairy-obsessed teacher Mr. Crocker, who detects the magic. During lunch, Bippy, A.J.'s pet monkey, takes a bite of the muffin and wishes the world into a jungle where apes rule and humans are second-class citizens. All fairy godparents are reassigned to primate children, with Cosmo and Wanda assigned to Bippy. Timmy wakes in a treehouse version of Dimmsdale, sees Crocker arrested by ape overlords, and disguises himself to track Bippy to the Apes' Forbidden City. Timmy is captured and taken to a human testing center with Crocker and Francis. Bippy, remembering Timmy freeing him during the food fight, saves Timmy by wishing away the monkey world, restoring humans as the dominant species.

Reception

On the day of its premiere, Robert Lloyd of the Los Angeles Times described the film as fun for the whole family, praising its suspense and popular culture references. Jason Bovberg of DVD Talk criticized the film's loud tone but commended the imaginative final act. The song Wish Come True! received an Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics, losing to Because You Are Beautiful from the documentary V-Day: Until the Violence Stops.
