Gameplay
Super Swing Golf: Season 2 features an improved story mode with an overworld map that does not necessarily follow events in a set order. Two new multiplayer games were added to the party mode: Stroke Play, Match Play and Balloon Pop return from the first game. The game offers two control schemes: Swing control using the Wii Remote as a golf club, or Button control similar to the Mario Golf style. New courses and cosmetic tweaks are also included.
Reception
The game received average reception upon release. GameRankings gave it a score of 71.69%, while Metacritic gave it 70 out of 100. GameSpy gave the game two-and-a-half stars out of five, criticizing it for being more of an expansion pack than a true sequel. 1UP.com gave it a B−, noting surprising depth that may deter casual players. IGN scored it 7.3 out of 10, calling it the best overall golf experience on Wii despite incremental improvements. GameSpot gave it seven out of ten, calling it a good golf game despite minimal improvements.
