Reception
According to Game Machine's January 1, 1984 issue, Senjyo ranked as the second most successful new table arcade unit in Japan that month. After its AMOA 1984 showing, Video Games magazine's Zelmo reviewed the game, drawing favorable comparisons to the 1983 Atari 2600 titles Battlezone and Robot Tank. The reviewer praised the "very nice" visuals, effects, and three-dimensional landscape. However, the player's limited movement, contrasted with the enemies' high maneuverability, was called frustrating and potentially off-putting for arcade audiences. The review concluded that while the game showed promise for home play, it might be slightly off base as an arcade release.
