History

MOUZ began in 2002 as a Counter-Strike team based in Berlin, Germany. Starting with small local competitions, the squad steadily moved up to bigger events. By 2006, when the G7 Teams group was established, MOUZ had become one of Europe’s top gaming organisations, fielding rosters in Counter-Strike, Warcraft III, Quake 4, Battlefield 1942, and Unreal Tournament. On 13 May 2007, MOUZ bought Nihilum, the world’s leading World of Warcraft organisation, making it a subsidiary. Nihilum was rebranded as “Nihilum: mousesports MMO” and remained MOUZ’s most consistent competitive force in European play. But by autumn 2008, the relationship between the two sides became shaky. On 10 November, the former PvE team of SK Gaming merged with Nihilum’s players, ending the partnership after more than a year and a half. MOUZ kept the Nihilum name alive and, on 1 August 2009, launched a new community site that brought together the World of Warcraft guild Method, the WotLK Wiki, and the Nihilum brand under one roof. Years later, on 19 June 2025, MOUZ knocked out defending Major champions Team Spirit with a 2–1 victory in the quarter-finals of the Blast Austin Major 2025, punching their ticket to the semi-finals.
