Current divisions

Peter "ptr" Gurney joined Luminosity as an AWPer on April 30, 2015. On July 29 of that year, the organization dropped its existing roster and picked up a Brazilian team composed of Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo, Fernando "fer" Alvarenga, Lucas "steel" Lopes, Ricardo "boltz" Prass, and Marcelo "coldzera" David. In November 2015, Luminosity reached the quarterfinals of DreamHack Open Cluj-Napoca 2015. The team won MLG Columbus 2016 on April 3, 2016, and followed that with a victory at DreamHack Austin on May 8, 2016, defeating fellow Brazilian team Tempo Storm 2–0 in the finals. On May 16, 2016, they won the ESL Pro League Season 3 Finals after beating G2 Esports 3–2. On June 24, 2016, it was announced that the Brazilian roster would join SK Gaming on July 1, 2016; their final tournament with Luminosity was the Esports Championship Series Season 1 Finals, where they placed second after losing to G2 Esports. Luminosity signed the Brazilian team WinOut on July 30, 2016, with a roster of Renato "nak" Nakano, Bruno "bit" Lima, Lucas "destinyy" Bullo, Vinicios "PKL" Coelho, and Gustavo "yeL" Knittel, coached by Alessandro "apoka" Marcucci. Nakano and Lima were removed on September 8, 2016, and Gustavo "SHOOWTiME" Gonçalves and Bruno "shz" Martinelli joined on September 11. On September 12, 2019, Luminosity dropped its second Brazilian roster. On July 1, 2026, Luminosity returned to Counter-Strike for Counter-Strike 2, signing all but one player from the European team Monte and Brazilian Lucas "lux" Meneghini from Legacy. On October 8, 2016, Luminosity signed its first Super Smash Bros. for 3DS and Wii U representative, Japanese Mewtwo player Abadango, and shortly after signed European Fox main Ice for Super Smash Bros. Melee. Both left before 2018, ending the Smash Division until Melee player Ginger was signed in February 2021.

Former divisions

Luminosity Gaming made several roster moves over the years. In January 2015, they added Stanislav Cifka, Nuno "Ignite" Pinho, and Josh "Impact" Graham. Later that July, Christopher "PHONETAP" Huynh joined from Team Hearthlytics. In October 2016, Eric "Problem" Wright came on board; he is widely considered the greatest Madden player ever, being the only three-time winner of the Madden Challenge and also winning Madden Nation Season 3 on ESPN. In June 2019, Luminosity acquired a Rainbow Six: Siege roster featuring Coal "Doodle" Phillips, Kian "Hyena" Moyazani, Richie "Rexen" Coronado, Tom "Tomas" Kaka, and Muteeb "PiXeL" Chaudary. This squad quickly rose to the top of the North American Pro League, beating DarkZero Esports and Team Reciprocity. They placed third in the online qualifier for the Six Major Raleigh but missed the main event. At Dreamhack Montreal 2019, they lost to Team Liquid and BDS Esport, finishing 13-16th alongside Chaos Esports Club and amateur teams. After that, PiXeL left and was replaced by former Rise Nation player Abdullah "Factor" Rihan. Luminosity ended North American Pro League Season 10 in fourth place, missing the finals but staying in the league. In November 2024, Luminosity entered League of Legends through the North American Challengers League (NACL), the region's second-tier competition. They won both NACL splits, defeating DarkZero in Spring and Conviction in Summer, which earned them a promotion tournament spot. However, they lost the grand final to Disguised, the league's only guest team, and were not promoted to the LTA North. Luminosity did not return to League of Legends for the 2026 season.
